Well I never! An unplanned trip to my hometown-Perth, Australia, has opened my eyes to a lot of the fashion goings-on in Oz. Clearly, a lot has changed since I left ten years ago. I have seen some of the changes every time I have visited. It is nice to know, though, that it isn’t all East Coast. Flannel, a Cottesloe-based (beautiful seaside suburb of Perth) designer is getting noticed all over. You can find her stuff selling at Browns, New York, allegedly. And it’s pretty darn good. Fashion-forward, while still retaining a West-Coast identity. Don’t just take my word for it, take a look for yourself. Think luxe, contrary to what the name suggests.

TGIF and TGIFNO. Of course I will be making some stops for Fashion’s Night Out before dinner. It was a bit of a dilemma-Meatpacking or Soho…I decided on Soho, but will make a couple of stops in the Meatpacking on the way to the subway since it is near home. Next dilemma-which shoes will I wear? I’ve got to be able to schlep from shop to shop but can’t be too flat….Hmmm…I am really looking forward to this. Supposedly Peter Som, Alexander Wang & Jason Wu will be at Kirna Zabete. Since the project I was meant to do for Fashion Week fell through, I am glad I get at least a taste of FW. And some bubbly to boot.

I have never owned a single cocktail ring. The reason for this is simple. I never could find one small enough to fit. The few rings I do wear were custom-made. So I was ecstatic when I found an amazing elasticated cocktail ring at NEST Interiors-genius! We wear elasticated bracelets so why not a ring? And it looks spectactular. Now I can glam up my cocktail-holding hand.
