Godard’s Film Socialisme is one of the most dissonant films I have ever seen. And I actually understood the French, so I can only imagine what it would have been like to rely on the subtitles. But of course, his play with the subtitles was intentional, as was the dissonance. And, coincidentally, the very same day I went to see it, I had just begun a project called ‘Noise’. Usually I am not in the habit of uploading previews of unfinished work, but I felt like making an exception.
